Famous cases investigated by the Warrens
Ed and Lorraine Warren were made popular for their investigations of paranormal and bizarre cases in the Connecticut area and around the world. From Amityville House to the Union Cemetery, their ghoulish inheritance of hunting the paranormal remains significant till today. Here are some infamous and weird cases investigated by them-
1. The Snekeder House
In 1986, Carmen and Alie Snekeder rented a house in Southington, Connecticut. While exploring their new house, they uncovered mortuary tools in their basement. They realised that their new home was a funeral parlour. The smell of rotten flesh filled the house and running water would at times turn blood red. The eldest Snekeder son was suspected to be possessed by ghosts. These ghosts often assaulted Carmen and Alie. The Snekeders asked Ed and Lorraine Warren for help. The Warrens explored the house and found that the morticians had done some satanic rituals with the bodies.
2. The Perron Family
When Roger and Carolyn Perron moved into a 200-acre farmhouse in Rhode Island with their five daughters, they had no idea about the shady past of the house. Many former residents of the house had died, some were murdered and others hanged themselves. Some spirits would help and play with the children, while the notorious ones would harm the family. Ed and Lorraine Warren were asked for help, but later they had to leave the house.
3. The Smurl Haunting
In 1974, Jack and Janet Smurl moved into a house on Chase Street, Pennsylvania. They concluded that a demon had possessed their home. The demon had banged their German shepherd into a wall, bit Jack's ear and kicked one of their daughters down the stairs. Both Jack and Janet were said to be sexually assaulted by the demon. In 1986, they contacted Ed and Lorraine Warren, who confirmed that their house is indeed possessed by a dangerous demon. Ed Warren announced that he had seen a black mass, which told him to go out of the house.
4. The Southend Werewolf
A seemingly ordinary carpenter named William Ramsey claimed to be possessed by a demon that compelled him to take the shape of a werewolf. Ramsey had experienced his first change at the age of 9. Ramsey would fly into violent fits of rage, he would display inhuman strength, exposing his sharp teeth and growling while curling his hands like claws.
5. The Amityville House
The most well-known case of the Warrens was in 1975. The Lutz family had moved into a quiet house, where an assassin named Ronald DeFeo had killed six members of the family. The Lutz reported slamming noises, disturbing elements and levitation of children. The Warrens took pictures of the house and they saw a little boy standing in front of the house with sparkling eyes.
