10. Revealed puzzles

Michaela was wandering through the filthy sewers in search of the central canal, which will directly lead her to the corporation facility. After much difficulty, she managed to reach the main canal where she found two men, dressed in complete black clothes. She thought that they were some kind of and it will be best for her to keep a low profile. She hid around the corner of the walls and somehow walked past them. She also heard them talking about something called subject 117. "Are they talking about Marklo?", she thought to herself. But avoiding it, she moved forward only to see the opening of the canal. She was finally inside the facility.

Hiding from the people and security scans, she somehow managed to infiltrate Barrett's office. There she surveyed for research papers, documents, audios, files etc. Being an outstanding student, she also managed to crack his computer password and made a copy of the hard drive. There she found something odd, something that she wasn't anticipating. Subject 117 or Teufel, as it is called, is an extraterrestrial being who has come from a different timeline. It is genetically programmed to kill people in the past, who are going to become successful shortly. The company's new fusionizer was just like a portal, which connects two timelines if there is enough energy. Teufel has no barriers, it's just a monstrous being that will kill everyone and will wipe out the entire human race. Nothing can stop it unless.....

Before she could read further, someone entered the room and switched on the lights. Michaela was stunned to see Sara, her stepsister standing right there. Both of them were surprised to see each other in this position and there was an awkward silence for a few seconds before Sara burst out. "Michaela, what are you doing here?" Unable to hide the truth, Michaela tried to get out of the room but Sara blocked her way. "You people have done a lot of good things, now it's time for the professionals to act and take control of the situation." "What are you trying to say?", Sara asked, pretending to be confused. "You have sent out a bloody bastard in the woods who is possibly hunting down people. Do you have any idea how many people have been killed by that monster", Michaela asked. Sara said reluctantly," Subject 117 was contained in a blast-proof, 11-inch steel door, there was no way it could have escaped. But it turns out, we underestimated its power. However, we can still..."

Before she could start again, several footsteps could be heard. Sara grabbed Michaela's hand and hid around a corner of the room. Several soldiers barged inside the room. They were looking everywhere for Michaela perhaps. Somehow, the duo managed to exit the room, without grabbing the attention. "How did you enter the facility?", Sara asked her, while they were running towards the exit. "Main Canal door, level 6", Sara said. "Shit, we are doomed then. There were hidden cameras and motion sensors on that floor. They have probably seen you." They tried to exit the second floor by taking the back stairs. Soon they heard an announcement," SECURITY BREACH DETECTED! ALL EXIT DOORS ARE SHUTTING DOWN".

 "Quick we need to escape through the level 1 back doors". "But Markus is waiting outside for me", Michaela said. "Tell him to meet at the fifth canal, that's where we will get out". Michaela switched on her channel," Markus, are you there?" He responded," Ground control to delta 1-3, what's your status?" Michaela, frustrated by his funny words, said," We have a situation here, I will meet you at the fifth canal. Be there with Marklo". "Is everything okay, with you? Why there is so much chaos there?", Markus asked her." Nothing is fine here, the matter is far more complicated, there is...." before she could continue, her channel was cut off. " They are blocking the comms, we need to get out now!" Sara somehow opened the door. They successfully managed to get out of the facility, their hearts racing inside their chest. They saw Markus waiting at the end of the canal, with Marklo.

Sara was totally surprised to see Marklo. "What the... Another monster from the different timeline?" Markus said," yes, it's me from the future, but what are doing here?" Sara said, " They have probably seen us by now, we must move to a safe place, any idea sister?" Michaela said, "Yes, I do have a place in my mind, we need to hurry up!".
